Field Day June 24-25 2017
The Union County Amateur Radio Club will be participating in Field Day June 24-25.
Field Day is ham radio's open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.
We encourage ANYONE at any age that has an interest in amateur radio to come out during Field Day. You will be able to get on the air on the GOTA station and talk to other people. Since there will be a licensed amateur radio control operator at the GOTA station, an amateur radio license is not necessary. There will also be an education table setup and a scavenger hunt for children to participate in.
